“ I recently stumbled upon their Instagram profile, which immediately brought back cravings for my old Woodland favorites. With some extra time on Saturday the 4th, it felt like the perfect chance to make the trip from Rosemont. Though the drive seemed longer than I remembered, it was absolutely worth it! I ordered the Shah Burger, Shah Fries, and a side of Sabzi--and wow, I can't believe it's been since 2021 that I last visited. The burger was phenomenal--juicy, flavorful, and downright unforgettable. The fries? Perfectly seasoned and easily some of the best I've had in ages. And the Sabzi? Let's just say I devoured every bite. If you haven't tried these, you're missing out--they're all must-haves. Since it had been so long since my last visit, I couldn't resist grabbing some extras to-go for dinner. I was so excited to dig into the Afghan Macaroni, Chapli Kabob, and another helping of that amazing Sabzi later tonight. The venue itself offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Keep in mind it's street parking only, and the restroom is conveniently located just around the corner of the building--look for the House of Shah sticker near the first door on the right. I am already looking forward to my next visit! ”

“ Located in downtown Woodland, conveniently located on Main Street. Two words- healthy and fresh! With vegetarian options that do not disappoint! My go to is the veggie plate with the burani bonjon (eggplant). My husband usually goes for the shah burger and fries. Fries come in the cutest little silver basket - love the details like that. The dining room is clean and tidy with a nice hand painted mural to enjoy while you wait. Everything is cooked to order so call in or order online if you don't want to wait. ”

“ What an absolute GEM of a restaurant. My partner and I were truly blown away by the flavor of the meal, the huge portion sizes, and how sweet the lady at the register was giving us ordering recommendations. The interior was gorgeous in a simple way, with hanging lights, wall art, and small knickknacks here and there for some personality. And I honestly cannot say enough about how good the food was. I ordered the chicken Kabali with thigh meat, which was tender and flavored and served on top of the most delicious spiced rice. My partner ordered the Chapli Kabob, which was a perfectly seasoned ground beef patty, which he said reminded home of gyro meat in how flavorful it was. There also are not many places like this in Woodland, especially not with Afghan cuisine specifically, so we were in love from the first bite. I highly recommend trying Shah's if you haven't already, it truly exceeded our expectations. ”

“ Great location on Main Street in Woodland. I was excited when I learned that Woodland had an Afghan restaurant. On a recommendation from a friend I tried the chicken salad, and it is so good! I tried with the beef kabob once, but the chicken is definitely the way to go. The indgredients are fresh, and I love the yogurt dressing. I want to branch out eventually and try their rice plates, but I love their salad so much I keep going back for it! The prices are reasonable, and the restaurant is cute and clean. Great food, and the staff is always friendly as well. ”

I usually stick to the beef kabob plate (can't go wrong with this), but friends and relatives have tried other entrées and they were also very satisfied with the options and flavors of each. The cucumber salad is always a perfectly blended & the chutney is *chefs kiss*. ”

“ This was a pleasant place to try something new for me! The restaurant was very open, clean & it had lots of seating. The employee was friendly & helpful when asked questions. I ordered my food to-go & there wasn't a very long wait. Now for the food - it was delicious. The chicken was super tender & juicy, the naan was fluffy & the side salad was refreshing. I definitely could not eat it all, but oh well - yummy leftovers for me! I'll definitely be back again soon!!! ”
